Bethpage State Park: One of Long Island’s Greatest Treasures
When people think about what makes Long Island a great place to live, our beaches often come to mind first. But right here in Nassau County, we also have one of New York’s most impressive public parks: Bethpage State Park.
Located in Farmingdale, Bethpage State Park offers something for just about everyone. While it may be best known around the world for golf, local residents know there is much more to enjoy.
World-Famous Golf Right Here on Long Island
Bethpage State Park is home to five public golf courses, including the legendary Bethpage Black Course.
The Black has hosted some of professional golf’s biggest events, including the U.S. Open and PGA Championship, bringing worldwide attention to a public golf facility right here on Long Island.
And unlike many famous golf courses around the country, Bethpage is a public facility. That’s one of the things that makes it so special.
Much More Than Golf
You don’t have to be a golfer to enjoy Bethpage State Park.
The park offers miles of walking, running and biking trails, picnic areas, recreational facilities and plenty of green space. It’s a great place to spend a morning walking, take a bike ride, exercise or simply enjoy being outdoors.
For Long Island residents, having a park of this size and quality nearby is something that’s easy to take for granted.
Part of the Long Island Lifestyle
One of the things we often hear from buyers is that choosing a home isn’t only about the house itself. People also care about what surrounds it.
Parks, beaches, recreation, shopping, restaurants, transportation and strong local communities all contribute to the quality of life.
Bethpage State Park is a great example of that. Residents of communities including Farmingdale, Massapequa, Seaford, Wantagh, Levittown and Bethpage have an incredible recreational destination practically in their backyard.
It’s one of the many reasons we’re proud to call Long Island home.
